Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, and it got me reflecting on one of my own anxiety triggers: barf. Yes, you read that right. As one of the 0.1% who suffer from Emetophobia (fear of vomit), it’s a constant challenge.Anxiety isn’t always logical, but it’s real. This year, I’m prioritising my mental health by exploring EMDR therapy, which seems promising for many mental health issues. Remember, there is no shame in seeking help. Let’s break the stigma, normalise these conversations, and support each other in our mental health journeys.Read more in my latest what’s on my mind:#MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealth

What a really brave and transparent post Keri to show yourself in full. I myself have been affected by anxiety and yes it can be very debilitating at times. Your so right that your brain says its not logical, but have found great help with the right support and EMDR which you are also exploring. Its a journey and we need to embrace our anxieties as part of ourselves, the true individual.

Sharing one bad thing with friends/family member sounds helpful to lessen the stress🙂. For 3 years we have continued a 30 mins casual morning meeting on weekdays to share the events and small conserns with a small team member. This made us a trustful team, now we are doing an short ideason meeting.

I really love hearing what’s on your mind Keri Gilder. And it’s often not even close to what I would expect! Thanks for highlighting this issue. I have a family member who suffers from anxiety and I am sad to admit I really did not empathize as much as I should have simply because I did not understand how significant it was. The term can seem seem less severe than the experience of it. Really appreciate your candor and self awareness!

As another member of the same 0.1% club thank you for being so open about something that can be so debilitating. I can also heartily recommend The Emetophobia Manual by Ken Goodman. Early days but it’s liberating. Take care.

Inclusion comes in many forms. Sometimes we are non-inclusive and don’t even know it. Our own bias, which we all have, can come in the way of making extraordinary connections. I stand against discrimination and hatred on this day and everyday.

As a mentor and parent, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges young graduates face in a post-pandemic world, especially in the age of AI-driven recruitment. I have talked to two young women in the past month who said they applied to over 90 internships and did not receive one interview. Not only are great talents being filtered out by automated recruitment platforms, but they also seem to suffer from what I’m deeming ‘COVID social syndrome’, affecting graduates’ confidence in networking. It made me wonder if technology is doing our kids and talent pools a disservice? It's time to rethink metrics and embrace all the diverse and amazing talents out there. To young grads: persistence pays off - try and try again with your contacts!Read more in my latest what's on my mind: #Recruiting #CareerAdvice #Automation #AI

Nothing beats that feeling of displaying a hard-earned badge or patch proudly on your sleeve, whether it’s a girl scout badge, varsity letter or heavy metal band patch. I think it’s time we brought that feeling into the working world – what do you think?

I am both excited and terrified about this! Haha. The last bike ride I participated in was Barcelona in o Valencia Spain. It was hard, it was fun and it was where I really learned about a corporate culture that cares. That ride was 5 years ago - time to get back on the bike!

Sometimes it really is the "small things that matter".It does not seem like a big deal - a card reader in a lower position, but to many it really matters - daily. For Colties that have disabilities that require the use of a wheelchair or lower device to enable them to get in and out of work, this small change will make a big difference.Never thought about it? Maybe now is the time to reach into your employee network and ask them what they need. That is exactly what Coltdid and we are making these small changes based upon their incredible feedback.Thank you DAN (Colt Employee Resource Group) for the suggestion!

I have a saying embroidered on a piece of art above my coffee pot in the kitchen which reads ‘There are two ways to live your life - one as if nothing is a miracle and another as if everything is a miracle’. From witnessing a solar eclipse to clinching second place in a March Madness pool, this past week has been filled with wonders. Reflecting on these moments, I realise the importance of both luck and preparation. Just like planning for a solar eclipse viewing or navigating through a crisis scenario at work, being prepared can turn what seems miraculous into manageable experiences. Find out what’s on my mind in my latest article:#ThoughtLeadership #RiskManagement

To mark Women's History Month, I want to celebrate Marie Curie, a pioneer whose contributions to science continue to inspire generations.Marie Curie, born in 1867, defied the norms of her time to become one of the most renowned scientists in history. Her ground-breaking research on radioactivity earned her not one but two Nobel Prizes – in Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911) – making her the first person ever to receive Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields.Beyond her scientific achievements, Marie Curie's perseverance in the face of adversity serves as a beacon of inspiration. Despite facing gender discrimination and societal barriers, she blazed a trail for women in STEM fields, proving that brilliance knows no gender.Let her legacy remind us of the importance of curiosity, determination, and resilience in the pursuit of knowledge and progress. You can read more about Marie Curie's extraordinary life and work here:https://lnkd.in/eCc5K3zh #WomenInHistory #WomenInScience #MarieCurie
